The Resilient Enterprise Named "2005 Book of the Year"

ForeWord Magazine
has named The Resilient Enterprise (MIT Press) by MIT Professor Yossi Sheffi its 2005 Book of the Year in the category of Business and Economics.

Selected for this prestigious honor by a jury of librarians, booksellers and reviewers, Dr. Sheffi’s book chronicles the success stories and failures of businesses large and small as they deal with disaster and provides a rich set of lessons on how to prepare for and manage the business shocks of today’s increasingly volatile global markets.

ForeWord’s Book of the Year Award was established to bring increased attention to quality books published by independent presses and their authors.  This year more than 1500 titles were submitted in 55 fiction and nonfiction categories.  Winners were selected based on editorial excellence and professional production as well as the originality of the narrative and the value the book adds to its genre.

In addition to this honor, The Resilient Enterprise was named one of the Best Business Books of the Year by The Financial Times and garnered rave reviews from The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
